The recycling center for the Town of Cadiz is located at W8493 County Road B, at the intersection of County B and Lawver Road. This is a drop off facility for the residents of the Town of Cadiz only. No commercial waste is allowed. There are five dumpsters for solid waste and three dumpsters for collecting recyclables. The Recycling Center is open on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
We also have a dumpster for collecting metal items. You may put any metal items into this dumpster, including: sheet metal, doors, and metal furniture.
For information on what items can be recycled, see the list below, ask the Recycling Center manager for information, or contact the clerk for the Town of Cadiz. This is a new list as of February 1, 2024.
All recyclable items must be clean and cardboard boxes are to be broken down. NO USED OIL CONTAINERS.
The Town of Cadiz is no longer a member of Green County Solid Waste Management. Our residents may use the Green County Landfill/Transfer Station but pay the non-contract fees. Items that are too large or heavy for our dumpsters may be taken there. The Green County Landfill/Transfer Station is located at W2002 County Road SS, Brodhead, WI 53520. Alter Recycling in Monroe will take items that have freon in them at no charge. If you drop items off they will remove the freon and recycle the item. Alter is located at N2193 Clarno Road in Monroe. They are open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Call 608-325-2410 with questions.
The City of Monroe will take computer systems, laptops, printers, scanners, copiers, fax machines, TVs, VCRs, projectors, stereo components, microwave ovens, cell phones, toasters, blenders, fans, vacuum cleaners, power tools, clocks, radios, hair dryers, extension cords, and small appliances. If you have large items and need assistance, an appointment is necessary. This program is for all Green County residents, not just those who live in the City of Monroe. Call 608-329-2483 with questions or to make an appointment. Items are collected at the Wastewater Treatment Facility, 1224 10th Avenue, Monroe. They are open Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.
The City of Monroe will also take common and lithium batteries for a small fee. Common batteries are $1.00 per pound. Lithium batteries are $6.00 per pound.
